I believe fish to be a better fit here on Steemit than bears so I rounded up photos of some that I carved over the years. A few I pulled off my Facebook page so the quality isn't the best but you get the idea.
This one is probably the most colorful I've done, one of 4 I did for a restaurant in Ithaca NY.
Here I am at installation
I carved them a blue gill sunfish, salmon, rainbow trout and a perch.
They were all around 6-7 ft long and hung up on the wall of this restaurant.
I have done many others as well. Some examples include a Marlin I carved for my Bass pro shop tour where I carved at a few Bass pro shops down in Florida. It's funny though I carved a bunch of nautical pieces for the trip and none of them sold. They bought all my bears instead.
We had just arrived and setup:
I had my friend and fellow carver meet me there. We carved together the whole time.
Even carved on one piece at the same time...now that is entertaining:
That was a great winter, away from the cold and like a working vacation. Would love to go again. We had many mornings on the beach watching the sunrise.
Sorry that went a little off topic...back to the fish.
Here's a log I had that was completely hollow, figured I'd try a swimming coy.
Painting it really made it pop.
And to finish off the post here's a couple more trout I carved for another restaurant...
I hope you like my post. If so feel free to upvote and resteem. Thank you all for following and may the Steem be with you.
