It's been two months since my very first falcon-head rattle was finished. First time I drew stereotypical eyes and others asked me "what kind of bird is this?" or "is it a dead turkey?" Well, it looked very strange and lifeless. Then i had an idea to paint it all over again. It was important to observe how a falcon looks in reality, so i looked for a photo.
This is the rattle with the original eye and some white sketch lines for the beak.
More lines with white and black fibre pens, following the feathers' direction on the head:
Closer look:
Painted both sides with acrylics:
Not yet perfect but close to that:
The photos are original and taken with Panasonic FZ82.
