Moving away from the more traditional techniques used for the previous bears this one was created with a knife not a pencil. I wanted to focus more on the silhouetted shape of the bear in front of the rising moon. Using geometric shapes and cutting away negative space was a simple way to do this without including lots of details that would distract from the simple form of the bear. Although this wasn't something I had tried before with my art I found it fairly easy to pick up and after just a few attempts I had a result I was actually very happy with!
