From “The River Of Stars”

This is one of my art-translation projects. I created this cut paper art and am translating a story called “The River Of Stars.” This is a long project. This scene is about a howling wolf because she is sad. We used to have wolves in Hokkaido, Japan, where I was born. However, they were all exterminated by humans, mostly with poison. Their voice is beautiful and powerful. I believe their howl has Kotodama; word spirit.

これは私のアート・翻訳プロジェクトの切り絵です。星の川という物語の翻訳、アート作成中です。長期に渡るプロジェクトです。これは、狼が悲しくて遠吠えしているシーンです。かつて私の故郷である北海道には狼が生息していました。しかし人間の手によって、そのほとんどを毒殺され絶滅してしまいました。狼の声は美しくて力強いです。彼らの遠吠えには言霊、言葉の魂があると信じています。
