This card it's a very symbolic card. It is not a bearer of physical death but that of a change and the opportunity of a new beginning.
The skeletal figure is the harvester. By gathering of our past experience, Death, clears off our inner field revitalizing it and making it fertile again ready to enter new situations.
I have given to my Death the iconic scythe and a candle; the first may be used to harvest the aspects of our life and the second... In the past I would have said:- to burn off the sediments of pain and regrets... Today, to burn off the sediments of pain and resentment.
