Watercolor practice

I heard learning to paint in watercolor is a great way to exercise your brain into seeing and expressing colors(and not value). So as practice I made an illustrating a few OC's (original characters) Hive account@puppyfight and I came up with. This was my first completed drawing in water color. I'm currently using derwent water color pencils and Sakura portable pallet.

This image shows Dia the male guardian figure and Glu(left) and Grav(right). I tried to capture the characters dynamic relationship. In both composition, gesture and color. Both of these girls give their guardian a hell of a time.

So far my experience with watercoloring can be summed up like this, "It's like trying to tame a river." (and it'd be easier if I used watercolor paper).
