I once put a picture of my mess on one of the artists group on FB and suggested other artists to share their mess in the comments. To my surprise, the subject was of great interest to the artists.
I remember my golden thought that spread the whole topic:
...The artist should not be ashamed of his mess. His artistic mess shows how much the artist is dedicated to his art and to the inner world that forgets the outside world.
...and the random variety of shapes between the eye and the monitor can stimulate imagination to a new idea.
But as my grandmother used to say: What is too much, even the pig will not eat
if you escape too much from reality and the mess begins to affect the creator of mess and other people is a sign that it is better to clean up.
