Hey friends, it’s been a long while since I’ve been able to make a post or blog. There was a lot of work to be done in Missouri, but I am finally home now and can get back to work drawing and painting.
While I was in Missouri, the apprentice at the shop I was working with taught me a little about oil painting. I’ve always wanted to be proficient in this medium. My father gave me loads of art supplies and oil paints when I was younger, but he never really taught me how to use them. I didn’t really know how to clean up the brushes, so I ruined a lot of them in my attempts.
So, Sydney taught me the right way and here is the first oil painting I have done in about 20 years!
Working off plastic wrap made for super easy clean up! We used it because we didn’t have a pallet, but necessity is the mother of invention, right?
A lot of different oils can be used to thin out the paint. Sydney uses walnut oil.
And that’s my first painting! I am really looking forward to doing more work, and of course I will be writing more posts covering the processes and finished works! Thank you so much, Steemit community, for all of your support and interest in my many projects! Thanks for looking.
Til next time!
