It has been quite the day. I have just completed my very first oil painting. And I don't really love it.
For the past couple months I have been watching youtube videos and steemit videos to try and understand what it takes to make a good oil painting. There is so much I need to learn, and it overwhelms me almost every single day, but I am determined.
Color theory is definitely my most challenging part, along with application, brush strokes, thickness, etc. Basically all of it.
Moving forward I am going to work on keeping my values in check, and only applying very thin paint for the first couple layers.
Dedication with a sprinkle of luck is just what I need. Thanks for being here.
