In German, we say "Hand auf's Herz" in situations we really want to be truthful, pure, plain and simple.
Personally I strongly believe that this purity and heart connection is the essence of all human beings, the way we truly, deeply are. We just don't practice it enough. We live in a world of duality and over time our society misunderstood this entangled duality as separation. We are so used to focused on the other, the difference, to ensure ourselves our individuality but only create separation, division, isolation, loneliness and fear.
With this #performance I want to build bridges into peoples #hearts. I want to remind us that we are more similar, more equal than we might think. I want to create an atmosphere of allowing, of connection and a feeling of being seen, welcome and touched. Within myself first and than radiating it outside and invite others to join.
I was standing at the entrance of a busy passage in the 21. district of Vienna, dressed like a white super-heroine, right hand on my heart, left hand at the hight of the shoulder, palm facing forward. Standing completely still I tried to make eye contact with people and see who might be interested in connecting. When I felt someone being open, I approached the person slowly, holding a gentle eye contact, than asked: May I? and if they agreed I put my left hand on their heart for eleven seconds, than thanked them and walked away backwards.
During the 4 times 15 minutes within two hours, I connected with around 7-10 people.
The feedback has been various but positively.
I really enjoyed the performance a lot!
