y espanta las corrientes mansas.
Parece un animal peligroso,
por su tamaño de oso,
azul esta su mirada
por las lágrimas derramadas.
La pesca lo tiene cansado,
su especie está exterminando,
por eso en una cueva se refugia,
no planea salir nunca.

En el elaboré un mero guasa (Epinephelus itajar) porque es una especie en peligro; su gran tamaño lo hace un lujoso premio para quienes pescan, sin embargo esto lo tiene al borde de la extinción.
En el Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona, caribe colombiano, los habitantes aseguraban que en una cueva en la playa de Arrecifes, habitaba un mero guasa gigante. Estas playas están restringidas para bañistas, sin embargo por imprudencia de la gente, se han presentado varios accidentes; entre ellos, un joven cuyo cuerpo jamás fue encontrado, una razón más para que los habitantes afirmen que el mero gigante lo devoró.
¡Verdad o mentira?, no lo sé, lo que si es cierto es que se encuentra en estado crítico de extinción según a lista IUCN (Unión Internacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza) y podría desaparecer en cualquier momento.
Desde hoy 17 de marzo, en Medellín-Colombia se estará llevando a cabo la "Cumbre mundial de biodiversidad" y muchos investigadores siguen afirmando que estamos en una extinción masiva sin retorno, donde nosotros los humanos tenemos gran responsabilidad. Espero las conclusiones de esta cumbre sean alentadoras porque los rumores no parecen alentadores.
