Hi friends, I have got something different for you today. I wanted to paint something more complicated and play with details, so I was thinking about folk costumes from my country, unfortunately I couldn´t find and picture I would like, so I searched also some other European countries and their traditional costumes. I really liked one photo of a bride from Bulgaria, so I tried to paint it. It took me about 6 hours because of the amount of the details, but finally I can show you the result.
I used watercolors and white acrylic paint, round brushes in 3 sizes and one bigger flat brush. The paper is in a size of A4 - cotton, hot pressed.
Here is the process:
🔹 I started with sketching. It took me an hour to finish pencil drawing. Then I started to paint the bonnet. This time I reversed it. I started with the darkest color. I had to paint around the beads. I didn´t use covering fluid, because it would took me the same time I think.
After the black part I started to fill the beads with colors. First lighter, than some shadows and so on.
🔹 The tassels of beads and corals were tiny, so it was not easy to paint them right. I painted the blue and white beads first, then the smaller black, and finaly corals.
🔹 After I had to paint darker shades, to highlight the corals and add some to the background.
🔹 The work on the purple cloth was similar as the bonnet. I had to miss the beads, which I paintet after. I add also a small white acrylic dots on a few beads, so they look more shiny.
🔹 I used flat brush to paint those light seams on the white colth. It was the easiest and pretty good way.
🔹 The rest of the picture was quite easy to paint. There were less details and less dark parts. I was not sure about painting those silver coins, because the pattern was not clear, but I finally made it just graphically.
Thanks for watching!
