As i said in my last post that i will be trying to draw a digital version of my last sketch, i did.
It wasn't a long work, in fact it took me a very little time compared to my other drawings. i guess thats because i used a new method. i use a non display graphic tablet to do my digital work, and even though i can do the colorizing part well enough, sketching on it is that much hard.
if i am not looking at my hand while i am drawing, i don't get a lot of things right. sketching that way is harder because i cant keep the proportions right. and a base sketch is very important while working on digital paintings, at least for portraits.
so, somebody suggested me that i should sketch traditionally and then draw over that in photoshop, in that way i wouldn't feel like that i am cheating, because i am not copying the reference picture directly.
as much as i would love to buy a display tablet, i can't afford it, yet. also sometimes drawing on a non display tablet feels kind of exhausting..... i keep thinking about giving up....
anyway, here is the b/w version of that digital painting:
i focused on the lips more than any other part of the body. i feel like i should have spent a little more time on the nose. but i just felt that, after uploading the picture.
to make a color version, i took a new layer, with blending mode of color of the layer, and for the brush i think i chose color overlay or normal, i forgot.
its not a planned coloring. i just took some bright color and put them there, in a mood of "i don't care".
so thats it for today.
