Art is beautiful and sad

Recently I've been trying my hand at some pencil drawing and painting too.

This is a sketch of a particular tree in Wollaton Deer Park, Nottinghamshire, which always stands out to me for it's natural beauty when walk through the park to clear my head...

When I was younger I remember drawing much more but the older I got, the more it seemed that drawing always happened on the computer and never on paper. Although I was encouraged as a kid, now my parents tell me to focus on finding a job and not waste too much time with things like this.

To me though, art and music are the only self-pursuits worth anything to me in life. Aside from relationships and the experiences we share, all other goals are a means to an end. Art is an end in itself though - it is so important - we should not take it for granted.

So I encourage everyone to draw, make music, share your feelings and follow the things in life that make you happy.
