Hello and good evening to you all!
Today I wanted to share with you the process behind my latest seascape.
Progress square.
"About to jump in", oil on panel, size 30 x 30 cm.
I had a lot of fun painting this painting. I am in love with the translucent quality of water and had a blast diving into the challenge of transmitting that effect in my painting.
Where I'm from in Norway the water and beaches have a much colder and deeper color of blues and greys. As a result I've always been quite fascinated by the more turquoise waters of warmer countries.
In this particular painting though the turquoise, greens and blues are being played down quite a lot because of the greyer clouds in the sky.
Have you ever gone swimming on a summer evening when the clouds are rolling in and you even think it might rain? I love doing exactly that. I find that the water usually gets extra warm after being heated up all day by the sun and it's such a nice way to relax after a long day!
As always I will show you the process from start to finish, enjoy!
There you go! 😉
I am really enjoying the square shaped panels these days and think I will make a little series using this 30 x 30 dimension.
What do you think?
I hope you are all having a wonderful and creative day and if you have any questions about my process, please don't hesitate to ask!😘
