Good Saturday to you all,
Tody I am sharing a drawing I have been working on these past few days. It is till not a 100 % done, but I felt like sharing the progress so far.
It's been forever since I drew a portrait in charcoal and lately I have seen so many great examples that I got inspired to draw one myself!
This time have been working on a white paper called Velin Johannot. It is a brand of paper that I have used for etching but never for drawing. The paper has been great for printmaking, thou not so great as I did hope it would be for drawing. At least not with charcoal. I tried to draw in places with pencil and that seemed to be a great deal more agreeable with this paper. The main problem with the paper is that it is too soft and becomes fuzzy when scratched at with the charcoal.
But so far I've had a lot of fun! :)
Here are some photos from the different stages;
The drawing so far
I think I will let this drawing rest for a couple of days to look at it with fresh eyes before working at it any further. At this point I know I want to change and improve certain things, I just don't really know how or what, hehe.. Do you ever feel like that?
Besides, it is Saturday after all! Time to enjoy the weekend and let the mind rest a bit.
I hope you are all having a good and creative day!
