Here's more cubes I painted for wood week. Over time I've started to get the hang of drawing that typical wood pattern and for the second one I wanted to go for an old wooden fence look. Here's some process stuff
Again I paint the pattern flat then distort it into perspective, just makes life easier. I've also come to like the gradient map adjustment layer in Photoshop that allows you to remap your value range with a gradient. Came in handy for adding the color.
This one was okay, but I actually did a lot of work on the wood before I added the paint and that ended up not even really being all that noticeable :/ Oh well.
Haven't had time lately to do much personal work which is why I'm mostly posting my class demos, but hopefully soon I'll be able to crank something out that has a bit more creativity involved.
