Claire, 2018
You've been #blinddrawn . Yet again. It was a good one this time because you really didn't expect it.
The Art of Claire, 2018
I approached this painting in a different way than normal. I found her hair and the color of the denim striking. So I decided to emphasize these elements. In this case I wanted to show more shoulders and neck so it has a greater curve and form and it's much more difficult for me to replicate a hair so I thought this was a good option.
Are you several shades of brown to paint her hair, and with each stroke came a lot of different weaves of the brush. Once I did that I started layering orange and shades of red over the hair. Something I did differently and this one is after I shaded her lips In a red I took a white paint over it and created the light reflection look. I also added orange to be the seam around the button and the thread in the denim jacket. Her eyes are closing this one so it was easier to do that part of the process. What I found was the most challenging is the jacket in this case because the color in denim is hard to match and it has a large variation of blues.
The Photographer
This photographer and I have been in touch through Instagram. I wanted to surprise him again with another painting that he did not expect. I think that this is what art is about and I love the reactions I get from people daily. I think it can be a huge boost and motivator that somebody would take the time to do a re-creation of some of your art. At least that's the goal in the end.
This photograph was taken by the photographer . He's a skilled photographer here in Steemit. If you take a look at his page, you will see his many portraits and he even includes lighting diagrams / lenses / how he gets the shots. Overall it's really informative.

Who am I?
I am an artist who finds portrait photographs of people on social media, paints them, and posts it. I love the reactions and surprises that it gives people. I think there's a sense of self-esteem boost when someone is painted (even when there are mistakes or it doesn't look identical to them). The goal of my art is to surprise and spread love.
