Portrait of a Selfie by

Process
This one took on a different approach, I used a loose tracing technique for the outlines on this one. First one I've really done this because I like how my style is just so weird. So if this one feels off or too close to the actual photo, that's because it is! I traced her eyes, mouth, nose, etc but along those tracing places, I also took deliberate liberties to change it. So it's not an exact replica of her.
I took some liberties as you can see. Not because I thought she should have those features, but because I just wanted to exaggerate a little. The rest of the painting was done with the background layer turned off.
I also loved the trees behind her and decided to photoshop those type of trees in for the banner shot.
Original Photo
I think what inspired me about this photo is just how natural it feels. It's a genuine (but very HD) selfie. Those are hard to come by these days. She's looking like a normal person rather than an overly posted/half nude selfie that we often see over the inter webs. In that way, BRAVO to .
Who am I?
I am an artist who finds portrait photographs of people on social media, paints them, and posts it. I love the reactions and surprises that it gives people. I think there's a sense of self-esteem boost when someone is painted (even when there are mistakes or it doesn't look identical to them). The goal of my art is to surprise and spread love.
