Hello, my friends! First, look at this jewel that I found:
I made this simple animation from the contents of this book:
"Symmetry in Chaos: A Search for Pattern in Mathematics, Art, and Nature" by Michael Field & Martin Golubitsky. This is a second edition – first was in 1992!
I learned about this book from Chaoscope manual . If you are a programmer, the book will be a great help in creating new or improving existing fractal software. The popular Apophysis is open source and programmer can add the necessary features. Also, the book gives an explanation of the theory of chaos.
Second, I continue to experiment in Chaoscope.
For modern designers this software is almost unknown, and it has been undeservedly forgotten by veterans. Chaoscope was written by the Nicolas Depsrez in 2003 and immediately became popular among computer art geeks. This was the first program that allowed you to rotate fractals in 3D in real time. Here is a .gif that I record from screen:
At that time it produced an incredibly powerful impression! It is not known why the author suddenly stopped the development of the program. I want to hope that everything is fine with him. Alas, he does not answer my emails. I do not give up hope – if I can get the source code, the program can be improved.
The latest version 0.3.1 was released at the end of 2006:
Here are a few of my attempts:
color fractal sphere by me
solid body pattern by me
The program has modest system requirements for the PC - it works great even on a weak laptop of a decade ago!
