Many years before his final journey to the icy South Pole, the Mythos Savant known as traveled to the distant and forgotten parts of this world. One journey took him to the heart of the Arab Peninsula, in a place in the desert which is shown in no map scribbled by human hands.
"...knowledge coming from eldritch sources..."
Only spirits and djinnis had laid eyes in that place for thousands of years, and its existence was just a whisper, even in the tales of the mad hermits. But, the reckless explorer did not rely only in his physical senses; you see, he was armed with uncanny knowledge coming from eldritch sources, which he conquered with many sacrifices and much risk to his sanity and soul.
He was standing there now, ruins laying ahead of him as far as he could see. His consciousness shifted and departed from his physical body, soaring upwards until he had a good view of the whole city, seeing with his soul and primal senses. Here is what appeared before him:
