*First off, I want to say all rights to the Pokemon franchise goes to the Nintendo, Game Freak Inc., and Creatures Inc. companies; I am simply a life-long fan looking to contribute some creativity to the community.
As long as I can remember, Pokemon has been a part of my life in some form, be it the TV show, the card game, or the video games. It is exactly that reason I decided to research fan made Pokemon characters and attempt to recreate them in 3-D on the Blender 3-D application.
After viewing dozens of fan made pocket monsters, I happened across a Deviant artist by the screen name "rontoregion" ( http://rontoregion.deviantart.com/gallery/ ) who had ideas ideas for starter Pokemon, a Pokedex, and Pokemon Professor that
would reside in a mountainous region. Their work is absolutely phenomenal and I highly recommend you check out their work!
Pawddle, the Cat Fish Pokemon was the illustration that stuck out to me the most.
*Again, all credit to this illustration and concept goes to rontoregion of Deviant Art and their gallery is linked above.
After some work in the Blender 3D application, I have built my first iteration of an untextured 3-D Pawddle.
*This is only my first version and I still have a lot to work on in means of proportion and overall design.
This is the first post in a journal cataloging the progress during this project. Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful evening!
