There are two things most people require to be a strong artist.
The right lessons. Think of it this way. There are good habits and bad ones when learning to play basketball, cook local dishes, play guitar, even talk to the opposite sex. If you get the right lessons on the good habits, then that's part 1.
Devotion. Not practice. Practice is a little bit of work here and there. Devotion is doing nothing else until you're as good as every person you admire in that field.
That's the path of being an artist, my friend. :) It's a hard path, but a good one!
