Hello dear steemians! How’s your night going?
Tonight I wanted to share with you one of my self-portraits! I’ve been doing self-portraits since the very first moment I decided art was my thing. I have a lot of them, to be honest.
But don’t get me wrong, it’s not something about having a great self-esteem. It’s actually about not having enough reference pictures to draw hahaha
This self-portrait was a final project I had to do for art school a year ago. Its title was: “I like trains”.
I put my heart into drawing the whole face, but when I finished that part it was already 3 am and I was so tired and wanting to sleep that I've got fed up and finished the rest of it in like 10 minutes. Too sleepy to worry about if it looked good or nice or even professional...
That's why the hair looks like... A THING.
I have this bad habit of starting my projects one day before the deadline... I know it’s awful but I am lazy.
Here you can see some details of the drawing.
I used graphite pencils, the cheapest watercolors on Earth and oil pastels to make the doodles in the background.
I used my own not dominant hand to make them look even more like a doodle made by a kid.
(My inner kid, you see)
The morning after that night I gave another look to the disaster I made and laughed so hard at myself.
I mean... Claudia why did you have to pick especifically a picture of yourself showing your double chin?
Anyways it was a drawing really fun to make and even now, after one year, it still makes me laugh.
All the pictures and artworks in this post belong to me.
