I took inspiration for my second journal page from my journal itself which is an old book I rescued from my mum's recycling bin.
To get started I broke the page up using scraps of paper and gesso, I then defined some areas I wanted to add interest to. Then began to fill those areas with doodles, (I used a Papermate ball point pen as my fine liners have vanished). I then used inks to add colour (thankfully the biro didn't bleed)
I then added colour to the remaining area's hated how it looked so used white acrylic paint to give myself a fresh canvas in those areas. While waiting for it to dry I made a book embellishment (it does open and has doodles inside) and a poetry pocket (that's not expensive craft paper it's a bit of napkin glued to a piece of card and inked)
Making the embellishments took a bit longer than I anticipated leaving me just 10 minutes of my two hours to finish the page. I scrapped my plan to antique the rest of the page to match the book and pocket. quickly making a simple flower embellishment then using the last few minutes to add some doodles and writing.
Overall I'm quite pleased with how this page turned out. The 2-hour time limit is challenging but I think that will become less of an issue as I get used to it.
