I could only grab half an hour to work on today's journal entry which was inspired by a little boy stood at the bus stop trying to share his precious haul of autumn leaves with those who passed by in the same way my son would, when he was little. Thankfully I had taken some time to prep some pages last night so I was good to pick up my paint and go.
Finger Painting
There was no time for brushes so I randomly applied paint to the pages with my fingers, then pressed wet kitchen roll over the top to remove patches and create a mottled effect.
Reliving My Childhood
After using a hair dryer to dry the background I used some crimson and burnt umber acrylics along with the leaves I had been gifted to make prints. (this was so much fun I felt like a big kid)
Ring Ring!
My cue to wind things up was a phone call from the hungry teen telling me he was minutes away. So out came the biro for some quick poetry, leafy doodles and a mother and child.
I have no idea why but my phone suddenly decided to start saving photos as teeny tiny pictures.
I hate tech sometimes!
With moments to spare, I closed my journal, ran towards the kitchen putting on my responsible parenting hat just in time.
