I couldn't resist the urge to share this drawing again after I read that the movie is now the 3rd all time highest grossing movie in North America.
The Black Panther movie has recently surpassed Titanic to claim third spot grossing over $659.5 million behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936.7 million) and Avatar ($760.5 million). This is a real moment of pride for me as an African.
I have titled this work "Yoruba T'Challa"

Inspiration behind the drawing
When the movie hit the world hard after the premiere in the Black history month (February), I started seeing a lot of art made about the movie on instagram. This moved me to do something of mine too, and it had to be different! After a lot of brainstorming, I decided to dress T'Challa up as a native of my tribe, the Yoruba tribe (A prominent Nigerian tribe). I collected and used over 10 reference photos for the drawing!
