The title "Reifenpanne" (Flat Tire) might be as surreal, as the vehicle itself. This one was done for an exhibition in Denmark a while back and one could argue, that there is no tire, nor are the shoes flat... but hey, its like in a dream, where not everything comes in familiar shapes or the way we know itπ»
This piece was done in graphite pencil, watercolor and acrylics on reverse side of glass. I usually start with the drawing as one can see in this detail:

In addition to the graphite pencil, I add some highlighting in white:
Of course, the finished painting gets a handmade frame. This one has moving doors. The doors are something I came up with, when my paintings started to go to exhibitions in far away places. With the glass, one always gets a bit nervous with transport and so I created these doors not only as a design element, but actually with a function. With the doors closed, the glass painting is much more protected and rather safe during transit from one location to another π
