Howdy Folks! Looks like I’m back again… (Sorry!) This time, I’ve got some new artwork and a few new postcards to share!
First up, I got a new Sketchbox in the mail a few days ago and finally cracked into it last night…
[This SHOULD have been today's moment of "CAT ZEN," but it looks like he hit the "HYPERSPACE" button, instead!]
Using a chunk of Bristol from LAST MONTH’s Sketchbox, I drew this piece while utilizing some of the super-fancy pens that came in this month’s set:
“Every Damn Time”
The pens had a variety of tip types, from brushes to extreme-fine points, and I think I liked the fine point pens the best. I’m not sponsored by Sketchbox, (in fact I only have it because my wife thought I was depressed and ordered it to try to keep my spirits up! Thanks, ) but I’m going to say this, I would NEVER have paid retail price for these pens if I’d just been cruising around a craft or art supply store, but now that I’ve USED them, there are a couple that I believe might be worth the money!!! Wacky…

On to the postcards… For those who haven’t heard the SPIEL yet, here are a couple of reasons that I like postcards: (1) They are a fun way to stay connected with folks, especially in a time when VISITING is dangerous. Just send them a funny or cool card with something short message scribbled on it. (2) Sending postcards helps keep the postal service going. The USPS, in particular, has claimed that they are having economic troubles, so buying a batch of stamps and using them to mail a letter or a postcard or an “add-n-pass” or a collage to your art inclined friends is the perfect way to support the postal service AND spread some art-love. (3) Postcards are a fantastic way to collect art, especially if you’re on a tight budget. Whether you’re buying a postcard from a weird little business (like Marshes’ Free Museum in Long Beach, Washington) or a hotel or roadside attraction that you’ve visited or even a mini-print from an independent artist who either has their artwork printed on postcards or makes and sells (or sends you) a unique, one-of-a-kind piece, HOWEVER you get the works, postcards are the PERFECT way to acquire and store a sizeable art collection! (Like trading cards, but a little bit BIGGER!) Cheap to make, cheap to buy, cheap to ship, and cheap to store---but cool as HECK!!! (For more on this idea, see my Museum of Postcard Art post, as well as the update post!)
[SPIEL MODE OFF]
Here are the most recent postcards that folks can order from my postcard store (which is thru Redbubble.) (I wanted to get a lot more of them uploaded today, but my wife and I had the grandbaby for a few hours today AND I had to work. Life often cuts into my ART TIME, but hanging with the little kid is always fun…)
“Every Damn Time” (This one probably looks familiar.)
“The Scoooching”
“Do the Twist”

“Friendly Spectre”
In a perfect world, I wouldn’t have kittens crawling on the keyboard while I’m typing or pizzas to deliver when I should be writing or drawing, but even in the imperfect world where we currently live, I did get a FEW things done today. (I always wish I could do more…but there’s almost always tomorrow!)
If you’re interested in exchanging postcards, either printed or unique, hand-made cards, let me know in the comments, and we can find a safe way to share mailing addresses! Sound good?
Thanks for checking in with me! I’ll probably try to talk Mariah into recording a new radio show for tomorrow… We’ll see how that goes! Later, skaters!!!
