My in-progress copy of one my favourite masters of the past. Can you guess who?🤔 I’ll give you a few clues...
He was born in Florence to American parents.
He spent much of his professional life as an artist in London and in his London studio.
He would stop midway through a painting when he was feeling stuck or frustrated to sit at a piano and strike a few chords, before returning to the model and canvas with renewed clarity and focus.
He was considered to be “The leading portrait painter of the generation”
