Art is much about exploring yourself, what you love and cherish. Currently i m going through the same phase, knowing more about me and exploring my style and technique. i have been experimenting a lot lately, sometimes sketching with graphite, sometimes with charcoal pencil, lump of charcoal, pall pen, sometimes dedicating 9-10 hours of my time shading, blending, erasing, repeating it to create a realistic sketch, sometimes just doodling around to create a sketchy sketch with solid incomplete lines. Sometimes i just like spreading charcoal powder on paper and later on using eraser to create a high contrast -kind-of- incomplete sketches. Overall i love this journey of exploring me and the fact that i have to do it on my own so that i needn't have my thoughts corrupted or manipulated.
I completed sketching it a couple of months back and i really don't remember how long it took me to finish it. when i started to sketch it, my exam was near and i was literally tied up to my study table with some scary unfathomable books. At times i used to become so bored and tired that i started doodling on the surface of my table (which is luckily white). Bit by bit, i starting adding details, whenever i needed a break. So technically i completed it in a period of about 1-2 months and this sketch is much of like redemption for me.
Although I presented this sketch in a drawing contest organized by , must of you mayn't have seen it and also because i wanted to share the story behind it. Cheers!!! if you made it this far....
