FUD by - Acrylic on canvas paper - 2018 - About DIN A3
Dear friends and followers,
as an artist, I'm often full of Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.
"Is this really art? Is it good enough? Will someone like it or even buy it?"
I'm aware, that this is not the best way of self-promotion, but I just want to be honest. And, to be honest, the FUD is, what keeps me going, keeps me looking for new ways, for new styles, new expressions and new works.
Making of
This time was actually the first time, I started by doing a sketch on the paper.
Usually I just start painting without any vision or plan and then work through whatever comes out of me.
So it felt a bit like coloring by numbers or painting a coloring picture.
But it was also quite a good exercise for being more accurate.
Although I used a fine brush, it was quite difficult to stay in the color fields and to develop an interesting color scheme at the same time.
The difficulty was, that I usually often mix the colors right on the canvas. But this time, I had to mix them on my palette. And although I was quite struggling with the colors, I kept going.
Maybe, that's the best tip, I have for you: Just keep going!
So I took a smaller brush and started to outline the color fields.
It was really difficult to paint those thin lines, but it was another good excercise and at least, I created something new regardless of all Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.
I wonder, if anybody can imagine a room for this? Maybe a children's room or something.
Please let me know, what you think about it!
Thanks for watching!
