I decided to go draw in the Walter's Museum of Art in Baltimore as a way of honing my drawing skills with interesting subject matter. This place is a jewel in the city, and I would even dare say it is one of the best places to find interesting subject matter to draw around this area. This museum used to be the mansion of an very rich Baltimore man. The objects are from his collection. When he died he gave everything to the city of Baltimore to be a museum. He collected many historical artifacts from all over the world, so there are items from ancient Egypt, Sumeria, ancient greek and roman statues, asian and middle-eastern art as well as european art from medieval times to the late 19th century. It's hard to find smaller museums like this with such an interesting array of objects. The original rooms are also amazing. I stopped in the sculpture court yard to draw this bust. The best thing of all of this is that admission to the permanent collect is 100% free. What is not to love.
