Hi all, I used to dabble in scientific illustrations about 3-4 years ago and have dived back into illustrations recently. I did this piece for a friend’s band and it was trying. What I want to know from seasoned artists—especially those that draw and do graphic design—is what I missed or did well. If you think it is great, great! If you think I missed a lot, great! I would love some criticism on this regardless of positive or less positive. I have some broad shoulders, and can handle whatever you throw my way and would sincerely appreciate all constructive comments. I want to keep improving and start illustrating for work again. I would like to send it off this week for screen prints. You can help me. Again, thanks for whatever you have to say!
The illustration is of a bird perched on a wooden wagon wheel with wheat in the background—I hope you gathered this on your own lol. One note to take is that the band wanted the lighting on the bird to be from the right as opposed to the typical 90 degree left.
I am tagging photographers as well since they tend to see these things as they snap photos of many things in nature and have an eye for accuracy.
Thanks!
