Pick a style, any style. The great thing about the art world is that there are many styles to choose from. Whether you are in to the bold colors and repetition of pop art or the geometric nature of cubism, there is a little something for everybody to enjoy.
I always enjoy multiple interpretations of the same object. One of my favorite things to do in my drawing classes was to walk around in the middle of our still life drawing hours and see what the other students are coming up with. I always admired the other interpretations and styles that were different than mine. Even though we were drawing the same objects we all had different styles and different approaches which made for completely unique results.
Over time I got to learn the student's different styles. If you are an artist, push your interpretation to the public so it can be a known "style." If you are the observer, search hard enough and you will identify an artists style that is suitable to your liking which will intrigue you to stay in tune to his or her work.
