This week's kaleidoscope features a red and grey glazed earthenware sculpture that carries a stainless steel barrel as the body of the scope. The clay layers are each freestanding and gradually change shape to mimic the spiralling shapes that can sometimes be found in fire and smoke.
On the other side you can see the glass wheel that you actually look at and spin when peering through the viewing end.
Pointed at a strong light source, this toy can provide endless hours of fascination or just make a strong statement at the end of the hallway by the spiral stairs.
Just another strange creation from my studio!
