Hi all -- for my first post I thought I'd upload this self-portrait oil-painting I made a couple years ago in one of Harvard's introductory painting courses. I was already pretty experienced with painting from high school, but I had never tried portrait painting before, and I was going through a phase where I was intrigued by portrait photos/drawings/etc, so I decided to give it a go.
It was tough. I ended up spending many hours and nights on this painting, but I was obsessed and had to get it just right. I painted, then re-painted, then re-painted until I couldn't stare at the painting (and my own face) any longer. Pretty happy with the result, and I still use this as the profile picture for most of my accounts (even though it's a bit dated, and I no longer have long hair tied in a bun).
Anyways, I've got a bunch more art to share and will continue posting more here on Steemit!
