Hey guys! What’s up?
Today I am going to introduce you to henna art which is called “Mehndi” in India. Henna art is an ancient form of body art that the women of India wear in various rituals and occasions throughout the year. This art is mainly done on the hands and the feet.
It has been in application in India for centuries but recently, it is becoming more and more popular throughout the world as a form of body art and is often called henna tattoos.
Like other tattoos, henna art has endless designs but unlike tattoos, these are only temporary lasting for around 10-15 days since it is totally natural, made from a plant. The leaves of this plant are ground into a fine powder, which is then used to make a paste by mixing with water and is then applied in various designs.
It is then left for some hours and then the dried out paste is removed which leaves a reddish-brown colour and this lasts for around two weeks. Today I am going to share photos of the henna art that I applied on my hand.
Here it is.
Now here are some photos of the process.
