Diving is an extreme activity. Both scuba and free diving. However, it is one of the most pleasurable actions a human can perform. The sea is beautiful and full of secrets. From most beautiful corals, biggest living creatures to sunken ships and its treasures. It is all there to explore.
In this photograph a diver is hugged by the beauty, almost making love to the sea. The atmosphere is constructed with a wide colour palette used, serving to portray the beauty and the abundance of the oceans, while at the same time the dark areas suggest all the dangers of diving. It is a contrast, or, as they say, no risk, no gain.
The only tiny part of the image which stands out from the rest is the two rectangularly shaped lead weights on the diver's belt. Rest of the image is mainly in curves, almost looks like painted with a brush. This suggests the human mind, technology serving the purpose but appearing so tiny surrounded by the natural beauty.
