The name of this art photograph is: 'In the Woods'
It is almost visible what is in this photograph. But, trust me, there is more than you can see :)
The woods are distortedly reflected in the metal. The white sky, in between them, creates a beautiful white patch. It carries the entire contrast and very precisely balances tones in the dark-light scale. In the top of the image appears to be a very small dark area resembling outlines of a city in the night. You will notice this only if you look very carefully. It is at the intersection of the upper horizontal line (going left to right) with vertical reflections which don't seem distorted.
The distorted perspective of the reflected woods has its vanishing point very close to the top right knot of the image's golden cut. If you are familiar with the theory of composition you will know that the knot is exactly on the strong straight line steeply cutting the composition in two parts and vanishing point is just a tad before it. I am probably going too fast for the general audience here but can't help it. Sometimes it simply takes me over... :D
The colour scheme is yellow, some little green, and a touch of red on the sides to live it up. Everything is enveloped in darkness that closes the composition. Notice the two dark areas disturbing the wood reflections. One of them (on the left) almost looks like a person and the other one seems to be a dark circle. Well, that's me taking the photo and my riding helmet hanging on the right rear view mirror.
The reflection of handlebars in the bottom part of the image reveals that I took the photograph of the front chromed light of my motorbike ;)
Would you figure it out, if I didn't tell you?
Enjoy!
Does it raise any thoughts or feelings for you?
If you have a suitable place to hang it - let me know. I love when my work fulfils its intended purpose. I plan to make no more than 7 copies in total but could also make only one. For further information drop me a note.
