The name of this art photograph is: 'Fisherman'

This portrait shows a fisherman, head down working on his nets. Fish often break the knots of a net and make large holes which need to be sawn back before the tool is used again. It is a hard and boring repetitive work, many of us would never be able to do. However, some people depend on daily fishing and work hard spending long hours fixing their nets.

I was lucky to be there, to talk to him and get the opportunity to grab this brisk moment.

The overall contrast is hard, what signifies the hardness of the man's work and probably life, as well. The brightly lit sunny wall suggests heat, while the man is completely dark and unrecognizable. What leads us to yet another contrast worth mentioning. The wall is completely textured, while the man is fully portrayed in soft dark areas with just a bit of backlight showing the outlines. This adds to the main premise and underlines the overall dim and dreary atmosphere.

There is a green element in the middle of the frame, a plant that appears to push the greenness out of itself and spreads it on the floor right behind the man's leg. Green is balanced by a minimum amount of magenta in the bottom left and top right corners. If we take a deeper look at the image, we will notice the second, empty flower pot behind him. This implies scarcity, neediness, sadness. Also, notice his leg caught in that net. It springs to mind that maybe so is his life.
