Hey my Fellow Steemians lovers of art
Even in the most tragic moments in life, you can find beautiful things to stare at. Even across the worst situation in the country, or the despair of not having electricity, the uncertain knowledge that you have to do something, and not knowing what. I had learned that Even through all that, I can try, and I have to find a little peace in little beautiful things. When I look the pretty sunset with so much color in my window, I feel relaxed, and I can stop thinking for a while, I feel my breathing and my pulse.
I felt like I had to paint that sight, so I can see it all days in my room, and not only when the sunlight is going away. I remember one of my favorites books, "The little prince" in the chapter number 6, the little prince talks about sunsets, and how much (and why) he likes them. In his little planet, the sunsets and their softness were his only distraction. He used to move his chair in his little planet, to see sunsets all day if he wanted. It was a pretty small world. One day, he said that he saw 43 sunsets in one day. And in a moment... he says this:
"You know, one loves the sunset when one is so sad..."
How much wisdom in those words, I can say now, he is totally right. I understand little prince, thank you.
So with all this spare time, and my strong need of a sunset in my life (because I can't do like the little prince and just move to the other side of the world to see a sunset whenever I want) I did this drawing. I do not own heavy paper to use watercolors, and I don't care. I painted all I can see in my window, the striking colors of the light and the big tree in the street. The light is so strong that the tree looks brown, almost black. It's a beautiful sight, at least I think so. Even with a thin paper, I think it looks really pretty. Now, this is in my bedroom, and I can see it all day. Maybe now I'm kind of like the little prince.
Drawing for me it's kind of therapeutic. If you ever have a very strong feeling, the best thing that you can do is painting and let it all on paper.
