The Idea

I was approached by the leader for

Hive account@jaynie about a few weeks ago about wanting to animate her dear country's badge/banner as she kickstarts her campaign to spread awareness and unite South Africans on Steem. This initiative was put out there by

Hive account@pennsif about a few months ago and I'm pretty sure he is still looking for a few dedicated people to represent Steem in various countries.

If you guys don't know, Hive account@jaynie has a track record of being a leader that is all-in in Steem. She is here for the long long haul, and spends 24/7 of her days on Steem either creating content, promoting Steem on various social media platforms or managing her community, #powerhousecreatives. She is no doubt the leader we need for this escapade as we all try to bring Steem to the next level, and that is to be known to the outside world.

In all honesty, Steem needs better marketing and it definitely needs to have more exposure outside of just Steem communities alone. I know there are some initiatives that focus on onboarding newcomers such as the 'Steem onboarding' by Hive account@anomadsoul and Hive account@steemterminal by Hive account@thekittygirl, Hive account@xcountytravelers, Hive account@brittandjosie, and Hive account@wesphilbin but we definitely need more focus driven communities such as the likes of Hive account@steemsouthafrica. Organizing meetups, crypto seminars, and food gatherings like how Hive account@teammalaysia does it. Imagine if everyone would do their part, I'm pretty sure we would've created waves by now but unfortunately, we still have a long way to go.

So, here is me doing my part in helping make these initiatives look a little better by providing my expertise in animation. :)

Logo Animation

I think this design's animation is pretty straightforward. My main aim for this animation is to make sure that the 'Africa flag' in the center stays on people's minds. Hence, if you noticed, I prolonged the Africa flag a little longer before it follows the rest retracting. Also, this logo design was created by Hive account@jaynie herself. So credits to her for an excellent logo design too.

Final

I hope you guys enjoy looking at the 'behind the scenes' of how I animated this logo. While I skipped all the technicalities, the overall animation is simple and took me about 2 hours to complete. So if any of you would like to get a logo animated, feel free to drop me a DM on discord. Just make sure you have the logo's adobe illustrator work file so I can easily import them into after effects for the magic to work.
