Perhaps you, like me have a Fitbit which records your steps, sleep, weight, heart rate and calorie intake. I also use the Fitness Pal app to record my food intake and my Kakebo (a Japanese workbook) to record my daily expenditure.
On top of this, I have my work outlook calendar and our daily family planner π.
All these βtoolsβ are supposed to organise our lives, bring awareness to the choices we are making and ideally encourage a simplified life.
However, on holiday last week, I had my Fitbit and nothing else and it was quite liberating. I felt freer and began to wonder why I was measuring or recording everything that I did or had to do π.
Had my life become a bureaucratic βto doβ list when I had intended to bring more awareness and simplicity to my life?
I have ditched the food app and have yet to gain weight π. I believe that a period of quiet reflection or meditation each day would be a good substitution for all the apps and recording though I still love my Fitbit, π©π»βπ»
