Hello friends, reviewing the blog of I found that this week's contest deals with paranormal topics, so I decided to draw something to participate. It came to my mind the idea of drawing a representation of death (which in most cultures is represented by a skull) and add something different, like a candle to illuminate the dreaded death. Here is my entry to ART EXPLOSION WEEK 51Theme PARANORMAL:

Materials
-White paper.
-Colors: yellow, orange and red.
-Graphite pencils (2H-HB-6B).
-Draft.
Process
I drew the skull using the HB pencil, the top of the head I drew it broken because of an explosion, and that's why I also designed the flames inside.
I began to shade using the 6B pencil, I wanted this representation of death to look intimidating, so I put a little red color in the eye hole and darkened the edges of the skull enough.
Continue shading until you reach the top of the skull. Then I drew the flames
With the colors red, orange and yellow I painted the fire that was inside the skull of death, that gave the drawing a more evil look.
In this photograph you can see the simple sketch of a candle, I drew it under the skull in order to give the impression that it illuminated the skull.
I shaded the candle using the three pencils mentioned in the materials, it took me a while to handle the tones clearly, but with the help of the eraser I was able to blur the areas that looked hard.
Final result
For the final touch I colored the fire from the candle and accentuated the contrast of the dark tones, erased the areas I had accidentally soiled with graphite, and corrected the details of depth and lighting. Here is a representation of the death elaborated by me for this fun contest:
