Concept
Upon reading the story about the Samurai and Dragon by Bar Yosipovich, I was moved how the father wants to protect the dragon which came out of the ashes of his wife and supposed to be a child. And I sense some Asian culture so I decided to make my drawing style to be like that, more of a Japanese style.

After defining some outlines, I then added the ink to the flame part. I decided to add the flame because it is what cause the samurai's wife's death, also it would hightlight the subject itself.
In the middle of the illustration process, I thought that the dragon doesn't look good on his shoulder so I decided to change it.
This is the new baby dragon, a longer one and a friendlier look. I also added the details on the samurai's armor using 0.05 and 0.03 drawing pens.
Eventually I added more ink to make the flame more solid.
I guess this is it
