The constant practice in drawing, is what will achieve the goal of becoming one of those great artists we admire so much, that inspired us to be illustrators, to wish to illustrate at their level.
Draw a sketch, once a day when minimum is of vital importance.
This sketch that I made for the purpose of practicing and improving the skill of my hand, consists of a bust portrait of the iconic Marvel comics character created by the late Stand Lee "The Thing" crucial member of the Fantastic 4.
Note: I have not documented its completion in detail, for the reason that this outline was a speed practice exercise and not a complete drawing.
This sketch was made on bond paper of a format of 11 x 14 cm and only with a 3B pencil. I based on matching as much as possible to the work style of one of my favorite comic book illustrators Stepan Seiji, also look for highlight in this work the contrast of the lights and shades trying a black and white style, I also focus a lot on the details of the face, especially the texture which should resemble the closest to that of a rock.
Take an approximate 15 minutes to complete it, and be satisfied with the final result of this.
