I've always thought that people who can draw are phenomenal and naturally gifted in a way that cannot be explained. I wondered how they could make simple lines come together to form something so vivid and spectacular. It's a very mysterious talent that they have. That's why I've never understood why an artist's work was not really fully appreciated until after the artist died. I never understood why there were "starving artists", because when someone has a talent like that, they should be able to make a good living off of it. Not everyone can do what they do. I have writing skills, but every time I've tried to draw something, it never really came out how I needed it to.
I remember when I tried to draw a tiger one time and my brother told me that it just looked like a dead animal. Lol. And I have never been able to draw fingers and toes accurately. So, I think that artists deserve far more recognition and appreciation than they get.
