Hello, all you wonderful followers of our campaign! What campaign, you are wondering? Of course the crowdfunding campaign organized by Itínera Theater for its Cultural Eco-Center! Originally it was going to finish on Christmas Day, but we extended it until January 17th. So far we have managed to raise just above €5,000, which is close to a third of our goal. Not bad, but it could be more, so we'll give it another month.
Puppets in the Snow!
If you've seen our video, and are familiar with the location of our theater project in Southern Mexico, you will have guessed that our puppets (and yes, us real live humans too) are mostly acclimatized to the balmy subtropical temperatures of coastal Oaxaca. This makes this it even more interesting to see our friend Manu, who himself is from Colombia, spend this season in cold Europe (Germany mostly, though at the moment in Poland). And not only is it cold there, but there's actual snow lying around, making it a highly exciting experience.
Fortunately, the three stars of our video are with him, so they can enjoy the winter wonderland to the fullest. Wearing their same beach clothes as in Mazunte doesn't seem to bother them, as they are made of wood. And if their plywood feet are treated with a bit of oil, they should not have a problem with the wetness of the snow either. And since they are so comfortable in the cold, it's only appropriate that they should create a fourth member of the team: the snowman. He's already wearing a matching hat. The only question is now, how he would enjoy a moment on the beach? (A moment, that's all! Any more time would threaten his very existence!)
It's X-Mas Time Everywhere!
Christmas may be over, but the Santa hats and horrible sweaters are still well in season. Sure, it would have been nice to use these pics for a post before X-mas, maybe even as a reminder that the campaign is coming to an end - or possibly as a notification that we've extended it - but oh well! They seem to be wearing this pointy red cap so well... So if you were thinking about supporting the donation drive, but got distracted and forgot, you still have a chance to do so. And even if you can't donate, what would help us more than anything, is if you could spread the word about our project, our campaign, and our video in your social networks. Here are our Facebook and our Instagram pages. More than anything, however, I'd like to join our wooden friends in wishing you all
