Hello Friends! Time for another “Artstorm” creation! Here’s my entry for today’s “Artstorm Contest #49 Day4 - Let’s Celebrate The Festival Of Light - Theme : Diyas.”
This drawing, was all created within 15 minutes as this particular contest specifies. I digitally drew it all with my iPad Procreate App. I use a Procreate pencil that is designed specifically for use with the App, which was bought separately. This pen makes it very easy to draw very fine lines within my drawings. I used special tools for creating patterns, like the background pattern on the wall , also on the table. I very quickly airbrushed the background main color, which was dark purple, then over that I laid down the pattern of my choice, with a lighter color purple. I always choose a darker color first when I draw or paint, then add lighter colors to give depth to the overall picture, which makes it look more realistic. The more layers, the more realistic it looks. This drawing could be much more realistic if I had the time to work on it, but I’ve got to make it simple. My last lightest color I use, is always my highlight color. And then finally, I use the airbrush tool, with the color black, turning the volume of the paint flow way down, I go around objects shadowing, or shading, then it’s all complete. I hope you like this naturalistic drawing.
Here’s a bit of information about “Diyas.” Diyas, is an oil lamp, used notably in India and Nepal. This oil lamp is usually made with clay, and a cotton wick dipped in vegetable oils. Perfect to use for the celebration of the “Festival Of Light.”
